Mission
To provide leadership and co-ordination in the development and implementation of Accreditation programs, for the tourism industry within a national framework, so as to ensure uniformity and the maintenance of standards.
Strategic Goals and Objectives
- Development of the TAAL national framework, with the following features:
- The framework must be voluntary, national and industry driven and self sustaining;
- The framework must be a value-driven tool providing net benefits to operators;
- The framework must develop a reputation of reliability and credibility amongst stakeholders;
- The framework must be managed by a body that is totally independent from any accreditation program;
- The framework must develop a strong reputation and brand to ensure industry uptake; and
- The framework should be based on the ‘Core Standards’ for all tourism accreditation programs, generic and sectoral, in all States and Territories.
- It is proposed that the delivery of the accreditation programs would not be a function of TAAL, nor will TAAL accredit individual businesses. The individual sectoral and state-based generic programs will administer these functions.
- TAAL will be responsible for the creation and leadership of the framework, maintaining the appropriate standards and promoting the brand on a national basis.
- Build and improve the national accreditation system.
